What endotoxin testing assesses
Endotoxin testing screens for bacterial endotoxins, which are components of certain bacterial cell walls. It is one of several analyses that may be relevant depending on the compound class and intended laboratory application.
Whether endotoxin testing is applicable varies by material. Where it is performed, results are recorded as part of the batch documentation.
Where it fits
Endotoxin data, when available, complements identity and purity information. It is not a substitute for them, and its absence does not imply a problem where the test is not applicable to the material.
